Originally from the United Kingdom, Nazanin Boniadi is an actress and activist. In addition to being born in Iran, she lived in London for most of her life. Her studies at university took place in the USA after she moved there. Her first major role was as Leyla Mir in the medical drama 'General Hospital,' which aired from 2007 to 2009. As a sequel, she appeared in 'General Hospital: Night Shift' (2007).

She was born in Tehran, Iran. Her parents moved to the United States when she was a child. Nazanin Boniadi's personal life began with a childhood spent between New Jersey and Virginia, where she attended private school. Before moving to New York City to pursue acting full-time, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in Theatre Performance. Known for her work as an actress and model, Nazanin Boniadi hails from Iran. December 11, 1980 was the day of her birth in Tehran, Iran. She has an architect father and a painter mother. She had a brother who died in 2010 due to cancer. At an early age she studied acting at the Haftom School of Acting from 1999 until 2002 before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting as a career when she was 22 years old.

In 2004 she made her debut film appearance in Hollywood by starring alongside Jim Caviezel in The Stoning of Soraya M based on true events about “Soraya Manutchehri” (Nazanin Boniadi). It was directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh who wanted someone that could speak Farsi fluently.
